Who is Steven Skinner?

Gary arrived to Pekin in 1979 opening the community’s first Edward Jones Investments office. He served as a Financial Advisor for 40 years retiring in 2019. Over the years, Gary has volunteered in a variety of ways. Among them was over 30 years on the Marigold Committee; more than 40 years as a member of Pekin Rotary Club; and past President of Pekin Main Street. He has continued in his role as a Commissioner of the Pekin Park District for 29 years; is a member of the Pekin Park Foundation Board; a Trustee on the Pekin Library Board and the Dirksen Center Board. On a statewide level, Gary serves on the IPARKS Board and is a Trustee and Vice Chairman of the Illinois Association of Park Districts Board. Perhaps most noteworthy, Gary has remained active in his role as the Cluemeister of the Pepsi Marigold Medallion Hunt since 1988.
