Cycle Through Pekin History

June 6, 2023 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

See history up close as you enjoy a bike trip across town with tour guide, Gary Gillis. We will start with a short presentation on the beginnings of the Pekin Park District. From there your bike will take you to the Dirksen Statue, the old Historic Train Depot, and the riverfront visiting the site of the steamboat “Columbia Disaster” and Pekin’s first school. Finally, the group will travel downtown. The trip is only a few miles. The surface is paved. No registration is needed. Helmets are encouraged and bringing your own water or substitute is recommended for hydration.
